I’m Uncle Kin, automotive enthusiast born in Hong Kong now living in Toronto, where I work as an auto mechanic. I truly enjoy driving and sharing that passion, and I’m incredibly grateful to those who had shared their knowledge and experience with me. My mission is to share the wisdom imparted by my mentors – whom I affectionately refer to as #Uncle6Speed – to help preserve the joy of driving and contribute to the #savethemanuals movement.

Uncle6Speed is my personal passion project, and since I’m working on it solo, AI has been a huge help in making this site possible. It’s a space where I can share my love for driving, especially manual, and connect with others who feel the same. My goal is to inspire people to give manual driving a try and find more joy in their everyday drive. I’m still learning how to blog and build a website, so I appreciate your understanding as I grow. My First Manual Car
My first car was a Honda CRX, a compact gem that sparked my love for driving. With its sleek design and lightweight build, every ride felt like an adventure. The responsive handling and zippy acceleration made mastering manual transmission a joy. This car not only taught me the fundamentals of driving but also created unforgettable memories that solidified my passion for automobiles. The Honda CRX was more than just a car; it was the beginning of my journey behind the wheel.
My First RWD Manual
My first rear-wheel-drive car was a Mazda Miata, which transformed my driving experience. Its lightweight design and responsive handling provided pure joy on every journey. The manual transmission helped me connect with the road and taught me valuable skills, including how to control RWD in winter conditions. This thrilling experience led me to drive iconic cars like the Nissan 240SX and Mazda RX-7, deepening my appreciation for sporty, rear-wheel-drive vehicles. The Miata wasn’t just my first RWD car; it marked the start of an exciting adventure in performance driving.
My Favorite Ride (S2K)
The Honda S2000 is my favorite car, even though it’s not the fastest or most powerful I’ve owned. What sets it apart is the sheer fun it delivers while driving. Its high-revving engine and precise handling create an exhilarating experience that makes every journey enjoyable. The connection I feel with the S2000 is unmatched, as it encourages me to push my limits and truly engage with the road.
